Woodstock's parks and sports fields don't officially open until May 1st.
WOODSTOCK - With all of the nice weather we've been getting lately, Woodstock's Parks Department has a reminder for residents.
The parks and sports fields don’t officially open until May 1st because the city relies on students and seasonal staff members to help maintain the outdoor facilities.
We also have some rain in the forecast so everyone should stay off the fields to avoid damaging them, which can easily happen when the soil is wet.
Environment Canada reported a record-breaking daytime high of 19.8 degrees on Monday. We're supposed to get a high of 7 degrees today, which is still above average for this time of the year. Environment Canada the daytime average for early March ranges between plus 3 and plus 5 degrees.
