WOODSTOCK - Donations are starting to pour in for the London Middlesex Humane Society after they rescued 151 cats from a Motel in Woodstock on Monday.
Woodstonian Bobbie Hurst started collecting items at her place and she has been blown away by the support from local businesses.
"We started collecting on Tuesday of this week and we have been really blessed, we had people drop off items at my house into the blue bin. We have have had Zehrs in Woodstock, Tremblett's in Ingersoll, and Food Basics in Woodstock donate several items. My boss, CAS cooking oil removal donated $200, Pet Valu in Woodstock has also donated tons of non clumping cat litter, litter boxes and deordorizer."
She has already collected a van load of items to donate and will continue to accept items all week at her home on 808 Frontenac Crescent. You can drop the items off in blue bin. The Humane Society needs the following items.
We will always accept the following types of unopened ‘Royal Canin’, ‘Hill’s’ and ‘Purina Pro Plan/One’ wet & dry pet foods:
- Kitten and puppy food
- Adult cat food maintenance (dental diet)
- Adult dog food maintenance (dental diet)
- Non clumping cat litter
- ‘Yesterday’s News’ cat litter
- KMR kitten milk replacer
- Towels and small fleece blankets
- Small cat beds (new, unused only)
- ‘Feliway’ cat diffusers and refills
- Cleaning supplies (laundry detergent, bleach, paper towels, dish soap, lysol wipes)
The Humane Society is also in need of cash donations to help them deal with this massive influx of cats. You can send those cash donations online here.
