The Oxford County Suicide Prevention Team is getting ready to host their fourth annual World Suicide Prevention Day.
WOODSTOCK - The Oxford County Suicide Prevention Team is getting ready to host their fourth annual World Suicide Prevention Day.
Although the official day is on Monday, Team Member Jenilee says they're going to mark the occasion a day early.
"We're acknowledging it on Sunday down at Museum Square in Woodstock this year. Hoping to get more people out if we have it on a weekend instead of a Monday."
Jenilee says it's all about rallying together to shine a light on this issue.
"It's a chance to of course remember those we have lost to suicide in our community but we also get to hug those and celebrate those who have overcome their struggles or are asking for help."
Community resources will be on site with their own interactive activities to keep everyone busy. There will also be free pizza, water and live music.
Things will get started at 11 a.m. and wrap up at 2 p.m. If it happens to rain, the event will move inside St. Marys High School.
Update: Oxford County's World Suicide Prevention Day will now take place in St. Marys High School this Sunday.
