WPS in Active Investigation

An active investigation is currently underway as the Woodstock Police have Wilson Street closed.

UPDATE 2 – Woodstock Police have another update.

Wilson Street is now reopened to traffic, and police want to thank the public for their patience and cooperation during the response efforts. As this remains an active investigation, no further updates will be provided.

Woodstock Police Service would like to extend our sincere thanks to Woodstock Fire Department, Oxford County EMS, CN Rail, and VIA Rail for their valued assistance during this incident.

UPDATE - The Woodstock Police have released more information regarding the active investigation.

Just before 11:30 a.m. today the Woodstock Police and Oxford County Paramedic Services responded to a collision involving a pedestrian and a train. Police say the incident happened on Wilson Street south of Hounsfield Street, and emergency crews responded right away and are currently on scene.

Again, the public is being asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes to get around. Police are asking anyone that may have witnessed the incident to come forward and contact them at 519-537-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police are currently involved in an active investigation.

There is a heavy police presence on Wilson Street south of Hounsfield Street. The public and motorists are being asked to avoid the area at this time, and take alternate routes.
