WOODSTOCK - Starting next week Woodstock Police will be partnering with by-law officers and Southwestern public health inspectors.
They will be doing random inspections at local businesses and facilities to make sure they are in compliance with the Reopening Ontario Act. Officers will complete random and routine inspections of businesses and facilities to ensure COVID-19 safety plans are prepared and posted in a visible location for patrons to see. Physical distancing, face covering usage and gathering numbers in public spaces will also be monitored.
The intent is to provide education to businesses and facilities who are not in compliance.
According to the Reopening Ontario Act, businesses that remain non-compliant can be fined between $750 and $10,000.
