Oxford County is looking to do their part when it comes to saving the planet.
WOODSTOCK - Oxford County is hosting a Zero Waste Event Workshop in Woodstock.
Tourism Specialist, Meredith Maywood speaks about what to expect at the Workshop.
"People will learn about how they can reduce waste at their event from the planning phase to the implementation. Ways they can prevent generating waste and ways how they can diverte waste."
Maywood also speaks about the Free Zero Waste Event Planning book.
"The book will be made available digitally, it will be launched at the event and it will provide a variety of resources that are specific to Oxford County such as place you will be able to go and get resources to help reduce waste at your event."
Speaking at the event will be Mariela McIlwraith co-author of Meet Better: 167 Easy Ways to Make Your Events More Environmentally and Socially responsible.
The event will be held on November 23 in two sessions, 2-4 p.m. for event venue managers and 7-9 p.m. for all audiences. Located at the Quality Hotel & Suites, Altadore Room at 580 Bruin Blvd. Woodstock
