Inspiration will be served, along with breakfast on this coming International Women's Day. The occasion will be marked on Friday by Woodstock's Zonta Club with their annual breakfast at the Quality Hotel & Suites. Co-organizer Pat Frey says it's about celebration and reflection. "Our sisters behind us were very instrumental in getting us to where we are today. We still have some major hurdles. In this country, we're fortunate, our hurdles are not that big. But in other countries they're massive, so we need to keep pushing." The breakfast will be headlined with a speech from Rose Handy, who will be sharing her story about going from a homeless mother to running her own business. She's authored a book called: "Going from Homeless to CEO: no excuse handbook." The Zonta Club will also be handing out some awards to local women, and selling their trademark yellow roses. Frey says, "The yellow rose is the symbol of Zonta Woodstock, and Internationally, and those funds go to International projects, which we're very proud of."
