A new survey has been launched on the Zorra Township website. It ask residents to rate the most important policing issues in the community for things like speeding, illegal dumping and break and enters.
ZORRA TOWNSHIP - The Zorra Community Policing committee has launched an online survey.
They are trying to find out what are the most important policing issues in the Township. Mayor Marcus Ryan explains why they want this information.
"We get excellent data from Oxford OPP on what the reportable offences are in Zorra Township and we want to try to marry together the community perception of the issues with the data of the issues, so the committee can have a better understanding and hopefully give better advice to council and the OPP as to where the community would like to see the resources focused."
The survey only takes a couple of minutes to complete and asks you to rate the most important policing issues on a scale of 1-10. Ryan says the data will be made public.
"When the data is collected it would go on the Zorra Policing Committee agenda for on of their upcoming meetings and Oxford OPP attend the Zorra Policing Committee meetings. So they will be in that meeting and they will get the same agenda package as the committee, which of course is available on our web site and available to the public as well. It will be up to the policing committee on what they want to do with the data when they get it, if they want to do some more analysis, or if they want to make a recommendation directly to council, that will be up to them on how they want to handle it. So absolutely, the OPP, council and the public will all be able to see the results of the survey."
