A Zumba Fundraiser will be held to raise money to put AED on sports fields in memory of Andrew Stoddart
WOODSTOCK - A Zumba Fundraiser is being held in memory of 15 year old Andrew Stoddart who passed away earlier this year while playing soccer in Kintore.
The goal of the night is to raise enough funds to purchase two Automated External Defibrillators for sports fields in the region. Andrew's life might have been saved had an AED been present at the Optimist Park on that fateful day and his family has been advocating for AED's at every sports field in the Province ever since. Zumba Instructor for Woodstock Health and Fitness Marguerita Hagedorn is organizing the event and says things get started at 6 p.m at the Goff Hall this Thursday.
"We have some trainers coming at 6 p.m. with some AED's, there are going to be small sessions on how to use AED's and we want to show people how easy it is to use an AED and how the machines can save someone's life. Then at 6:30 p.m the Silent Auction tables open up, we have over 115 companies and businesses across Oxford County that have donated prizes, then at 7 p.m we start with the 90 minute Zumba event, which is open to all family members, children included."
They will have something for the whole family including face painting, group photos and over 100 door prizes. Tickets cost $5.
