The Children's Aid Society of Oxford County will continue to offer services for children, youth and families during the lockdown.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Children's Aid Society of Oxford County will remain open during the Provincial shutdown.
Executive Director Tina Diamond says they will continue to deliver essential services to children, youth and families in Oxford County.
"As an essential service, staff have continued working to deliver assistance in Oxford County since the onset of the pandemic."
Diamond says they are working in step with the local health unit.
"Operating under the guidelines of Southwestern Public Health, we are ensuring that the services we provide are completed safely and in a manner that respects the rights of those we serve. We are open and
here to help."
COVID-19 and lockdowns have led to increased risk factors surrounding mental health, intimate partner violence and maltreatment of children and youth. The Provincial shutdowns have impacted everyone and they have deeply impacted children, youth and families.
If you know a young person under the age of 18 or a family who needs help or support, you can reach out to CAS Oxford. Additional services are also available through the Family Violence Counselling Program for anyone impacted by intimate partner violence.
Anyone who needs assistance regarding a child or youth or who knows of a young person or family who needs support can access help by calling 519-539-6176 or 1-800-250-7010. You can also find more information on the CAS Oxford website here.
