Do You Know This Man?

Oxford OPP have released photos after a botched robbery in Tavistock on Friday night.

On Friday, March 11, 2016 at approximately 8:50 p.m. Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to the report of a robbery at the Shell gas station located on Woodstock Street North in Tavistock.

The lone male suspect entered the gas station convenience store shortly after 8:30 p.m. and approached the male employee. The masked suspect demanded money; however the robbery was interrupted when another customer drove into the gas station parking lot. The male left the store on foot in an unknown direction. Nothing was taken in the robbery and there were no injuries.

Members of the OPP conducted a search of the area however the suspect remains at large. The OPP Forensic Identification Services attended to examine the scene.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect described as follows (Photos attached):

  • Male, approximately 25-35 years old
  • 5 foot 10 inches tall approximately
  • Medium build
  • Wearing a black hood style skull mask, a grey sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black cloth gloves and dark shoes.

If anyone may have witnessed this incident, or was near the gas station at the time of the incident, or if anyone has any information regarding the person(s) responsible for this incident, they should contact the Oxford County Crime Unit at 519-688-6540 or OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
