She will now compete in the Grand Slam competition this November.
TORONTO/LONDON - She's bringing a silver medal home.
Dr. Sonia Palleck is a local orthodontist and author and she competed in the Speaker Slam competition in Toronto last week. It's the largest inspirational speaking competition in North America and Dr. Palleck finished in second place.
She says her speech titled One Love highlighted her experiences with racism, healing, and the power of love.
"Speaker Slam gave me the opportunity to speak some truth about my personal journey through racism, healing humanity, and one love. My heart's mission is to advocate for love, dismantling the system of separation that keeps us in fear and anxiety by bringing awareness to the power that our words have. Thank you to everyone who has helped me along this path. Love and light to you. All that and a silver medal!"
She was one of 10 speakers who hit the stage in the Human Connection category.
Dr. Palleck will now compete for the Speaker of the Year title at the 2024 Grand Slam - The Inspirational Speaking Finals this November, where she could walk away with a $50,000 prize.
