Mayor Ted Comiskey says Ingersoll will hence forth be known as The County of Ingersoll of Oxford on the Thames.
INGERSOLL - The Town of Ingersoll is leaving Oxford County and starting it's own County.
Mayor Ted Comiskey says Ingersoll is the Hub of the Earth and will hence forth be known as the following.
"The County of Ingersoll of Oxford on the Thames. We are going to annexxing and taking over, so that we have larger subdivisions. We are taking over Beachville, Embro, Thamesford, Mount Elgin, Salford, Foldens and Sweaburg."
Comiskey says everyone will benefit from having Ingersoll as the hub of the County.
"That whole territory will now become the County of Ingersoll, the hub of the earth and it will just be great for everyone. Marcus Ryan, David Mayberry, we haven't really talked it over with them, but I am sure they will be for it."
Comiskey is also petitioning to have the County of Ingersoll become the new capital of Canada.
The Mayor also wanted to join Heart FM in wishing everyone a happy April Fools Day.
