Art activities and family fun games are just some of the things in store this Family Day. It is happening next Monday starting at 9:30 am.
WOODSTOCK - There will be plenty of things to do on Family Day in Woodstock.
A variety of activities will be organized throughout the community.
Cultural Communications and Facility Rentals Coordinator for the Woodstock Art Gallery Robin De Angelis says the day starts at the Gallery Cinemas.
"And then after the movie there are all sorts of really wonderful, free activities happening across the city and there's a lot within walking distance, which is really great. We'll have creative activities at the Woodstock Art Gallery. You can come in and make a fun art project, we'll also be having our new exhibitions opening just the weekend before so if you don't get to stop by for that opening, you'll be able to explore the Gallery and check out of all of the new wonderful art projects with the kiddos, which is really fun."
Movie tickets cost $7.00 and they must be purchased in advance. She says they can be picked up at the WAG any time between 10:00 am to 5:00 pm from Tuesday to Saturday.
She adds the Letters From Japan exhibit is closing at the Woodstock Museum, which looks at a 70-year friendship between a woman from Woodstock and her pen pal from Japan.
De Angelis says the Museum has a new exhibit.
"There is our new exhibit that opened up just a couple of weeks ago, Keeping Warm, all about looking at life in the winter throughout history and what it's like to survive our cold Canadian winters in this rural area."
She says Theatre Woodstock will also be offering a behind-the-scenes tour of Market Centre Theatre.
