The Princeton Park is getting a new concrete sports pad that should be ready for next summer.
PRINCETON - Blandford Blenheim Township have put out a call for tenders to install a new concrete sports pad inside the Princeton Park.
The pad will be used for sports like tennis, basketball, ball hockey and could even be flooded in the winter for an outdoor ice rink. CAO for the Township Roger Mordue says the project will not cost the Township a whole lot of money.
"The total project will cost about $80,000, the Township recieved a Canada 150 grant for $26,000 of that and the Township will contribute about $14,000 and the Friends of the Princeton Park are going to cover the rest of the balance."
The Friends of Princeton Park have done a number of fundraisers in the past year to help fund the sports pad.
Tenders will be accepted until November 15th and the goal is to have the pad in place for next summer.
