Local businesses could get some help sprucing up their store fronts with assistance from the Facade Improvement Loan Program.
NORWICH - Norwich Township has set aside $50 000 to help local businesses spruce up their store fronts.
Council has launched a Façade Improvement Loan Program through the Community Improvement Plan. The program will provide interest free loans of up to $5 000 per property, based on 50/50 matching contributions for core businesses in Norwich and Otterville.
CAO Kyle Kruger tells Heart FM the money can be used for exterior street front renovations including entrances and display windows as part of a larger restoration program, repair and re-pointing of façade masonry and brickwork, façade painting and cleaning treatments, and other similar repairs/improvements. He adds the loans will be given out on a first come first serve basis and they have set a maximum of $50 000.
Businesses will also be required to pay back the loans within 10 years.
You can apply for the loan at the Township website www.norwich.ca.
