Norwich Township says this kind of vandalism and destruction has no place in our community.
NORWICH - The Township of Norwich has released a statement addressing the recent cases of vandalism at Emily Stowe Public School.
Police say someone cut down the metal flag pole and removed the Pride flag Saturday night, less than a week after the previous Pride flag was removed and burned.
The Township says this kind of vandalism has no place in our community and it believes that Norwich should be a safe and welcoming place for everyone. Having A Healthy and Safe Community is one of the goals in Council's Strategic Plan.
Mayor Jim Palmer says the Township is committed to encouraging a welcoming community, where all residents and visitors treat each other with respect and dignity.
Norwich Township flew the Pride flag on its community flag pole outside the Norwich Community Centre from June 1st to June 8th this year.
