A new subdivision has been approved in Tillsonburg by Oxford County council.
TILLSONBURG - Oxford County council has approved a new subdivision in Tillsonburg.
They approved the residential subdivision at their recent meeting on Thursday, which will put Mike Hutchinson Properties in charge of the project.
Warden Larry Martin says it is beneficial to the community.
"There's 80 different lots in there and and there's 78 homes and some row houses as well, so it's quite a subdivision and it'll be a great boom for Tillsonburg."
The project will also include one block for future access and two municipal parkland blocks.
He says it'll attract residents currently living there or new visitors.
"As always, we know that there is a housing shortage and this is going to help address some of those issues as well. So it'll be a shot in the arm for everybody."
Staff's report says Tillsonburg Town council passed the resolution in support of the new subdivision at their meeting on October 28th prior to County council's final approval.
Warden Martin says they have already started building. He adds while the project is already underway, there is no date for when it'll be finished.
