Intoxicated restaurant customer makes wise decision to not drive.
WOODSTOCK - Thanks to some keen staff at a local restaurant, a man was prevented from driving under the influence and potentially injuring himself or someone one else.
Staff at the establishment contacted police this past Friday when a customer who had been drinking attempted to drive home to his out of town residence while intoxicated.
The customer took the staff's advice and got a hotel for the night to sleep it off and avoid getting pulled over or crashing.
Sgt Don MacKenzie is gratefult to the staff at the restaurant.
“We want to thank the staff of the restaurant for monitoring their customers and ensuring everyone’s safety by making sure that this individual did not drive and then going the extra mile to help him make arrangements for the rest of the night.”
OPP and Woodstock police are reminding everyone that holiday RIDE programs are now in full force and can pop up any where at anytime.
