A sign designed to protect children from speeders has been stolen in Tavistock.
TAVISTOCK - Oxford OPP are investigating after a sign was stolen from a busy street in Tavistock.
The sign was installed as a warning to motorists to slow down in the area of Decew Street East and Hendershot Street.
It is described as 4 foot silhoutte of a 7 year old child. It's concrete base was broken and the chain and lock that secured it was cut. The sign had a picture depicting a child with a note stating "Thank you for slowing down". It was taken sometime during the day on Tuesday. It was posted on the edge of the road right beside the ballpark and pavilion.
The estimated cost to replace the sign will be $500.00.
