Could Woodstock have a future Olympian in Branden Wilhelm? It is a long term goal of the track star. Last week, Wilhelm won gold in the pentathlon at the CIS Track and Field Championship in Alberta. The University of Windsor student specialized in high jump coming out of WCI. But he says his coaches have pushed him to expand his boundaries. "They've had me do other events to take a break from high jump. I did hurdles because it was good for rhythm and than they said maybe you should try shot put and all these other events and slowly just built up the events and now I can do all five of them". Wilhelm is adding even more events to his repertoire and will be trying the decathlon for the upcoming outdoor season. Wilhelm hopes that one day, he may be an Olympian. "I don't know how realistic it is but I think I can do it and people have told me that I have a shot at it". *Photo Courtesy of Edwin Tam
