Crime Stoppers tips have led to over 1000 arrests and $9-million worth of seized drugs and stolen property. Those are the totals from the 21-year history of Crime Stoppers of Oxford. They're going to be out at community events all this month, promoting their tip line, during Crime Stoppers Awareness month. Giving tips to Crime Stoppers is 100 percent anonymous. Constable Trevor Lamb explains how your identity is protected in receiving a reward. "When they provide information we give them an ID number and we ask them to call back at a later date to check and see if that was successful or not. If it was successful, then we set it up at a financial institution where they go and pick-up their cash reward. It's not a cheque or anything like that. It's all completely 100 percent anonymous and confidential," said Lamb. You can also leave an anonymous tip on-line at www.oxfordcrimestoppers.com.
