Those interested in running for office have until August 21st to submit their paperwork.
WOODSTOCK - The nomination period has officially opened for the upcoming municipal election.
Those who are interested in running for office can now submit their nomination package to their local municipality. They have to provide photo ID, pay a filing fee, and have 25 signatures of endorsement. The City of Woodstock is encouraging potential candidates to make an appointment to avoid delays and make sure their nomination is certified as soon as possible.
You can run for Mayor, Deputy Mayor, City-County Councillor, or one of the four City Councillor positions in the Friendly City. You can also put your name forward to be a trustee for the Thames Valley District School Board, the London District Catholic School Board, or CSC Providence.
The nomination period closes August 21st and voters will head to the polls on Monday, October 26th.
