City by-law officers laid charges against a dog owner for letting it off-leash.
WOODSTOCK - A dog owner in Woodstock has pleaded guilty to charges.
City by-law officers laid multiple charges in the Ontario Court of Justice for Permitting a Dog to Run at Large following several complaints received in late December 2025 and early January 2026. On April 23rd this year, the accused entered a guilty plea on 7 charges, which resulted in a probation order.
City of Woodstock By-law Enforcement reminds all residents that dogs must be securely controlled by both a collar and leash when off their owner’s property. They also say that verbal commands are not considered acceptable control under municipal regulations.
