Ingersoll's Hi-Way Pentecostal Church will have the Watoto Children's Choir from Uganda perform later this month.
UPDATE - Due to unforeseen circumstances the Watoto Children’s Choir travel has been delayed, so sadly we will have to cancel our upcoming concert on January 21st in Ingersoll. The Watoto kids, aunties and uncles are so sorry they’re going to miss seeing you and send you all their love. Please check out watoto.com to see the choir’s updated tour schedule. Again, our sincere apologies.
INGERSOLL - The Watoto Children's Choir from Uganda will be coming to Ingersoll later this month.
It is a part of a six-month tour that will see them perform their newest album,"We Will Go."
The tour presents the story of abandoned African children and vulnerable women, who have been empowered to rise above their circumstances and answer the call to be part of the new Africa, ready to make a difference in the world.
Watoto is made up of a family from around the world who work together to make sure those who are forgotten have a place to belong to. They've also sent children's choirs across six continents.
The choir performs somewhere in the world on almost every day of the year. Hundreds of thousands of people get to meet some of Africa’s future leaders and they get to see their smiles and embraced by their hugs.
The Watoto Children’s Choirs have travelled extensively since 1994, sharing a message of hope for Africa’s
most vulnerable children and women.
They have placed thousands of orphans in families, empowered thousands of vulnerable women to reach their communities, rescued babies and former child soldiers.
The production, like Africa, is vibrant and colourful, and takes you on an emotional journey from utter despair
to joyous celebration, as the children and women share their personal stories of triumph in story and song.
The children have the distinct privilege of telling people, “It’s possible to have joy, to laugh and to have hope, no matter what you're going through.”
You can download their new album on iTunes.
All proceeds from the album will go towards Watoto in Uganda, providing homes, education, medical care and the love of a family to vulnerable children and women.
Heart FM will provide coverage on the event later this month.
The concert takes place on January 21st inside the Hi-Way Pentecostal Church, beginning at 6:30 pm.
