WOODSTOCK - As the Navy Vets look to wrap up their regular season this weekend, they'll be doing a couple of special things tomorrow.
One of them will be honouring their overage players.
Head coach Darren Young says the four players that are being recognized deserve all the honours that they're receiving.
"We have our four overagers; Kyle Walker, Chris Thompson, Noah Burns and Reade MacInnis. Obviously, honouring them for great junior careers, some mostly with the Vets. I know Reade came in this year but he's been excellent for us, he's been great leader for us, been a great player from the back end. Those four are very important to our team."
The Navy Vets currently sit in fourth place in the South Doherty Division. He adds they feel good as they head into the post-season. Young says they've been playing playoff hockey recently. He adds it's important for them to have that mindset and play with some of that grit.
On top of honouring four overage players, it will be fan appreciation night at the Navy Vets' home game tomorrow. He says the first 150 people will get a cupcake.
Young says they appreciate the support from fans.
"We're one of the top teams out of the 63 for fans, so we appreciate you guys coming out and supporting us."
Woodstock will host Ayr tomorrow night, before heading on the road to play Burford on Saturday.
