Police Kept Busy

City Police respond to three calls over the past 24 hours

WOODSTOCK - City Police have been kept busy over the past few days with several incidents including a break and enter, and a drunk driver. 

The first happened Thursday between 1 and 6pm at a home on Park Row. 

Police say the home was entered through the backdoor and several items were taken including  cash, iPod, camera equipment, and computer equipment and prescription medication.  Value of items approximately $1000.00.

Later that evening around 8:30pm, police say a vehicle was headed down Pittock Road near Summit Cres. when the driver lost control, left the roadway and the vehicle landed on it's roof. When police arrive they say the driver had left on foot but was later found. 

As a result, 25 year old Curtis Veenstra of Woodstock is facing several charges including driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol, dangerous driving, and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.  

Then on Friday morning just before 6am, City Police were called about a potential man entering vehicles in the Bee Street and Bigham Crescent area of the City. When police arrived then noticed a man in the back yard of a Bee Street home. 

A 23 year old Woodstock man, who police have not named is facing an undisclosed charge.
