The first three months of the green bin program in parts of Oxford County have seen success.
OXFORD COUNTY - It has been a successful start to the green bin program.
In the Township of South-West Oxford and City of Woodstock, there has been a total of 302,930 kilograms of organic waste kept out of the landfill. As part of Earth Month, Oxford County, the Township of South-West Oxford, and the City of Woodstock are updating the community on the first three months of the green bin organics program.
The number equals 57 African bush elephants, which is the largest living animal, and they weigh 5,300 kilograms. The amount of organic waste kept out of the landfills so far was from January 5th to March 31st.
