Three businesses and two non-profits will create a new tourism experience in Oxford this year.
OXFORD - The Tourism Innovation Grant will be going to three businesses and two non-profits this year.
Community Futures Oxford says they will each receive a $3,000 cheque, so they can complete a new tourism project in 2026.
You can find the complete list of grant recipients and their plans for the grant funding below:
Business - Makkink's Flower Farm and Bakery in Tillsonburg
Hilde Makkink is going to introduce a new edible flower experience called Bloom to Table. Those who participate will be able to discover how flowers can be used in food and drinks. They will also be able to take part in a special scavenger hunt.
Business - Scotch & Ponder in Ingersoll
Scott Van Schyndel will update the patio space so it can host special events with brewers and distillers. They will offer educational sessions that will combine tasting, storytelling and insight into their production methods.
Business - Good Pud in Tillsonburg
Sarah Senior and her sister Polly will deliver a series of hands on dessert demonstration experiences. They will highlight seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, all while encouraging multi-stop visits to Oxford.
Non-Profit - Zorra Caledonian Society in Embro
The group will host an International Tug-of-War competition during the Highland Games on July 1st. They will invite competitors from North Ireland, Nova Scotia and the US.
Non-Profit - Ingersoll Key Putt
The group will update it's 18 hole mini golf course, so each hole celebrates the history and accomplishments of the town.
The Tourism Innovation Grant is a partnership between Tourism Oxford, Community Futures Oxford, and the Rural Oxford Economic Development Corporation.
