A Woodstock man was found passed out in a stationary vehicle on Sparta Line, and he had a three-year-old with him.
CENTRAL ELGIN - The Children's Aid Society of Oxford County had to be called in after a 25-year-old man from Woodstock was arrested in Central Elgin.
He had a three-year-old with him when OPP officers found him passed out in a stationary vehicle on Sparta Line, east of Centennial Road, at around 9:30 p.m. on Friday. They had reason to believe that the man had been impaired, so he was arrested and taken to the St. Thomas Police Service for further testing.
He has since been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs and failure or refusal to comply with demand by the Elgin OPP. St. Thomas Police also charged him with an additional offence.
His licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for a week.
Children's Aid made sure a family member was able to pick up the child.
