The Woodstock Police have laid many charges after responding to multiple incidents in the city.

WOODSTOCK - Charges have been laid after an alleged fraud and a reported stolen vehicle.

The Woodstock Police were called on April 20th, and someone claimed they were the victim of a fraud that involved the purchase of a luxury vehicle, with an approximate value of 46-thousand dollars. The vehicle was purchased from a Woodstock-area automotive business, and during the investigation, it was determined that the vehicle was financed and delivered to a third party with the consent of the purchaser. After that, it was found out that the vehicle had been reported stolen despite the purchaser knowing where it was.

As a result, on Monday, a 28-year-old Scarborough man was arrested and is now facing counts of obtaining by false pretence over 5-grand, theft, and public mischief.

WOODSTOCK - An impaired driver has been caught in Woodstock.

On Sunday, the Woodstock Police got a call regarding a vehicle stopped in the roadway on Parkinson Road, and officers found it running and occupied by two unconscious people. The driver was arrested and had to be medically assessed.

As a result, the 32-year-old Woodstock man was charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, as well as operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.

WOODSTOCK - A break-and-enter investigation leads to an arrest in Woodstock.

The Woodstock Police responded to a burglary alarm on Monday at 11:40 p.m. at a business on Perry Street. A search was conducted, and officers found a person in the basement of the business.

As a result, a 44-year-old Woodstock woman has been charged with break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence.

WOODSTOCK - Threatening behaviour in Woodstock sees charges get laid.

The Woodstock Police went to a business on Dundas Street on Wednesday at 2:20 p.m. after reports of a man making threats and pouring gasoline both inside and outside the business. The man was at the business multiple times throughout the day and was denied service, which is when he poured the gas and threatened to set the business on fire.

A 33-year-old from Woodstock is now facing charges of mischief under $5,000 and uttering threats to cause damage to property.
