The Big Night Out Charity Ball Masquerade was a huge success for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock and District.
WOODSTOCK - The Big Night Out Charity Ball Masquerade was a huge success for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock and District.
Executive Director Kristen Ralph says they raised over $67,000 this year.
"It was definitely a great part atmosphere, people came wearing their masks and if they didn't have them when they walked in the door, they purchased them at the event and everybody just looked fantastic."
All of the money raised at this event will help support the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock.
"All the money that we raised goes directly into our programming, so it stays local and it goes into the programs that we run for the children and youth in our community, so whether that is one to one mentoring programs or our group mentoring programs."
Ralph adds they rely on the Big Night Out to help them operate during the year.
"The Big Night Out is our biggest fundraiser of the year, it's the one that we raise the most money. We do not get ongoing Government funding, we recieve about a quarter of our funding through the generous donations of the United Way, so besides that we have to raise our own money to be able to offer our programs free of charge, so an event like the Big Night Out is very important to us."
