The men and women who save our lives are being awarded with the EMS Exemplary Medal.
OXFORD COUNTY - Saving lives is not something the EMS do for glory, however four of Oxford County's finest have received recognition at the highest level.
They join the ranks of 1,900 paramedics to receive the Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal.
Ben Addley Chief of Paramedics for Oxford County Services comments when asked how proud he is about this group.
"Very proud of the four of them, goes to show the excellent staff and excellent work that our paramedics here in oxford county perform, obviously for them to be able to achieve this over a 20 year career."
Receiving the distinctive award are Johanna Hampson-Ducharme, Dianna Parsons, Brandon Wise, and Tracey Clayton.
Chief Addley explains the qualities the candidates have that make them stand out as honorees.
"They are the candidates that display that they have done their duties in an exploratory manor, they not only go out and perform as excellent paramedics in their patient care, but also above and beyond in performing other duties."
The recipients are recognized as well for their high standards of good conduct, industry, and efficiency.
Addley adds "these paramedics deal with serious risks in order to fulfill their duty on a regular basis, and we are thankful for their service."
