The International Festival of Authors Ontario is coming to the Friendly City.
WOODSTOCK - The International Festival of Authors Ontario is coming to the Friendly City.
Knox Presbyterian Church will host two book readings and Q&A's at 7pm tonight.
Peter Robinson, the man behind the Inspector Banks crime series will be in attendance.
Roddy Doyle was also supposed to come, but he had to bow out due to personal reasons. Woodstock Public Library CEO Bruce Gorman says Robert Rotenberg will take his place.
"His latest work is I would say a thrilling crime novel called Heart of the City. Its lead detective is investigating the death of a shady real estate developer in downtown Toronto so it's kind of a story about corruption, loyalties and family secrets."
The talks should end at around 8pm. Gorman says people will be heading over to the library afterwards.
"Everybody will be invited over for a wine and cheese reception where the authors can sign their books and you can mingle with the authors and mingle with the other people who have come to enjoy a great night here in Woodstock."
Tickets cost $15 a person and they can be purchased at the library or Merrifield Book Shop ahead of time. They will also be available at the door.
