Woodstock Police brief including a man sent to hospital after a incident of road rage and a man pushed through a window downtown.

WOODSTOCK - It was a busy Friday for Woodstock police. Around 11 a.m. they received a call about a 27 year old woman with warrants for her arrest in the Mill Street area. Police were able to find and arrest her. The original charge was for breaching a probation order.

On Friday afternoon around 1 p.m. police pulled over a driver in the Dundas and Clark Street area. The 20 year old driver was charged with driving without insurance and driving with licence plates not authorized for the vehicle.

And just a few hours later police received another call at 4 p.m. A 31 year old man was driving his vehicle along Ingersoll Road with his wife and two children. They stopped behind a van at an intersection. The van didn't move after the light changed to green so the 31 year old honked his horn. The van in front then continued driving. When the two vehicles met again at another intersection both men exited their vehicles and confronted each other. The 31 year old man was punched in the head, thrown to the ground, and choked.  He was transported to Woodstock General Hospital and treated for a concussion and a large cut on his head. A 43 year old man has been charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm.

Police were called out on Saturday around 7:30 p.m. to help a woman downtown. When officers arrived they determined the woman needed medical help. A man that was with the woman was uncooperative when Police tried to gather information about the woman. The man became argumentative and aggressive and was arrested for Obstructing Police before later being released.

On Sunday at 2:40 a.m. a 32 year old man was pushed through a glass window downtown. The man had minor injuries but refused medical treatment. Police are still investigating.

Officers set up in the Norwich Ave and Pavey Street area on Sunday afternoon for traffic enforcement. Six tickets were handed out for speeding.

A 56 year old man was arrested for public intoxication after police were called out to the Huron Street and Canterbury Street area on Sunday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. The call described a man yelling and walking into traffic. He was taken to hospital by EMS.

Also on Sunday, police pulled over a Ford pick up truck on Springbank at 10:30 p.m. According to police the vehicle did not have proper license plates and the driver could not provide proof of insurance. Three highway traffic act offences were issues and the vehicle was towed.
