The health unit wanted to get the message out as kids head back to school and we brace for a possible second wave.
OXFORD COUNTY - Having COVID-19 is an illness and it is not a source of stigma or shame.
This is the message from Southwestern Public Health as kids head back to school this week.
Local Medical Officer of Health Dr. Joyce Lock says now is the time to show compassion toward each other.
"I want to urge everybody to be kind to one another, it has been a tough time the last six months. We are all a little bit tired, but let's all be kind to one another."
Dr. Lock says they wanted to get this message out as the kids are back at school this week.
"Be kind to those who show symptoms of COVID-19 and test positive, it is an illness, it is not something you stigmitize them about. Everybody play their part and together we will get through this."
