United Way Oxford is about to launch its 60th fundraising campaign.
OXFORD COUNTY - It's a milestone year for United Way Oxford.
The local organization will kick off its 60th fundraising campaign at Craigowan Golf Club on Friday September 20th. The luncheon event will feature two guest speakers, and it's currently sold out.
Amanda Kreiger, the Manager of Resource Development, says they will have scrapbooks of some of their old campaigns on display, and some of the pictures will be shared online for those who can't attend the event in person.
"We're going to pull some of those and post them on our social media pages to share and we'll have interviews with some of the people who have been involved for many years as well. So we're collecting those stories and all of that information now, but it's slowing trickling out."
United Way will also post videos of the campaign kick off online afterward.
In honour of the big anniversary, Kreiger says United Way Oxford has a special goal in mind for this year: 60 for 60.
"We want to go out and meet with 60 new friends. Whether that's a coffee group that meets every Friday morning to come and talk, or that's a new employee that we don't have on our campaign right now. We'll just talk about United Way and ways we can get involved."
United Way donates all of the money it makes to local groups and charities that fall under its three pillars: From Poverty to Possibility, Building Strong Communities, and Helping Kids Be All That They Can Be The 2023/2024 fundraising campaign raised $1,218,337.
