The first of three public meetings about Oxford County's Woodland Conservation Bylaw will take place tonight.
INNERKIP - The first of three public meetings on the Woodlands Conservation Bylaw will take place tonight in Innerkip.
Director of Planning at the County of Oxford Gordon Hough says public input is key to a successful update.
"What this by-law does is it actually protects woodland areas in Oxford County, and what it generally does is protect any woodlands in excess of one hectare."
Hough says they want to hear from the public before making any decisions.
"The public meetings are really intended to gather information, hear from people about their experiences with woodlands conservation, with the bylaw itself as the case may be, and really just obtaining feedback so we can then go back to council."
Things get started tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Innerkip Community Centre.
They will have two more meetings on the matter at the Embro Community Centre on Thursday night and the Springford Community Hall on December 1st.
Every meeting runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
